djingueber mosque in timbuktu

The Djinguereber Mosque (Masjid) in Timbuktu is a famous arts and science learning center in Mali. Built in 1327 and cited as Djingareyber or Djingarey Ber in various languages, its design is accredited to Abu Es Haq es Saheli who was paid by Mansa Kankan Musa, emperor of the Mali Empire. In 2012, 54 Kingdoms paid homage to Djinguereber Mosque using it as a source of inspiration for its University of Afrika (UoA) product line from the Kingdom Come collection.
